Demyx moved over to his friend and instantly grabbed his glass of wine and in an even quicker motion swallowed almost half the glass. His friend looked over at him and sighed.

"Uh-oh." He said more to himself than to the taller blonde before following said older blonde's gaze, and in a moment rolled his eyes as he realized the problem.

"Oh, Zexion. Please tell me you're still not-"

"No, no no no no. That is over. Very completely 100% over." Demyx answered with one of his fake smiles before he looked back to the tall blunette, who was currently across the room. Dem's friend sighed again before wrapping his arm around the blonde and leading him more into the crowd of the party.

"What's the story with you two anyway? You were shagging him, right?" He asked before he took a drag of his cigratte that was certainly between his fingers.

"Well truth be told, I was in love with him." Demyx responded as he still kept up with his friend and ignored the smoke.

"Ah, right right. Then you found out he was shagging the bitch from Circulation."

"Which is when I stopped shagging him. And you know I really don't think we should talking about this at the office party." The mullet blonde suggested as the two of them stopped near some random cubicles that were currently empty, for their occupants were currently enjoying the party.

Dem's friend took another drag and looked at him with a tilted head.

"But I seem to always see you two together. He cheated on you but you stayed friends?" He said with an raised eyebrow and a confused expression.

"I was head over heels, ya know? Everyone knew….Does it look like I'm crying." Demyx choked and sighed as he bit his lip and snuck into one of the cubical away from the crowd, his friend following and waved a bit of the smoke into the blonde's face.

"No it just looks like your tearing up because of the smoke from my cig, okay?" He said as encouragement before he rubbed the blonde's arm, trying to be of some comfort.

"Ya know, I'm curious. Did he actually ever tell you that he loved you back?"

"Of course he did, three almost four times. And when I reminded him of that he said it must have been an answer to a question. But it absolutely was not." Dem stated but his friend bit his lip as well and sighed, before rubbing his head.

"You know, Demyx, when you catch a guy, that your currently with, with another person you are NOT suppose to stay friends. You are suppose to never talk to the prick again. You're suppose to scream at him call him names and scream some more. Not do his blooming laundry." He said with his english accent coming out now more than ever. Demyx only frowned at him.

"I don't do his laundry. Did someone tell you I do his laundry?" There was a pause between the two and Dem's friend sighed, looking away and thinking how could Dem be so…

"No, all we do now is …we email. Not when he's with her of course. We also talk on the phone. Sometimes for hours, then the occasional long lunch…" Dem started looking off up toward the ceiling but his friend sighed again, having enough.

"You know I never realized how pathetic you are." He said but Dem only sighed.

"Really? Cause oh gawd I'm so aware of it." His friend then rolled his eyes, before sitting upon the desk of the cubical, now almost done with his cig.

"They always know how to get us just right, don't they? I'll tell you when he want's to come crawling back into your life-"

"You know he has made a few comments like that. He hasn't exactly came right out and said it-"

Demyx paused as one of his bosses tapped him on the shoulder, allowing him to know that he was there.

"Demyx, have you filed your story yet?"

"Oh no, oh dear. Down to the wire. Sorry." Demyx answered after looking at his watch and seeing that he had a few more minutes to get it in. As the boss left, he smiled over to his friend before groaning.

"I better go." His friend smiled as well before Dem left, sighing once the tall blonde closed his door. He hoped Dem would be okay, and wake up.

Demyx sat down and began to type the column he was suppose to finish. It was about a wedding he had just attended to the other day. Dem was the writers for all the weddings that happened in London. And he was quite good at it so he was happy with his job.

He was almost done, just a few more lines to type and then he would get it in on time, until…

"Okay, I've got a question for you." Demyx paused, a small gasp slipping past his soft lips and he closed his eyes. He couldn't help but smile at the playful tone that all to familiar voice had to it. He eased around in his chair seeing the tall figure looming about in his doorway.

"What is it like to be the only one committed to their work while the rest of us party the night away?" Zexion asked with a small grin on his face as their two eyes meet each others. Demyx smiled a tad bigger.

"You mean what's it like to be the only person to not finish their work. And just wait there, do-don't go." Demyx giggled, actually giggled, before easing back around towards his computer and finishing up the paper extra quick.

Zexion smiled as he leaned off the door frame and stepped more into the room.

"Is it fun to have a brain that works that fast?" He asked with again a playful tone, that again Demyx chuckled to.

"Oh, shut up."

"No I mean it." Zexion replied as he sat against one of Demyx's other desks, watching the blonde type away. Then said blonde turned back around and smiled again.

"I bet it's going to be a brilliant finish too."

"I assure you it's not." Dem admitted before he nodded his head randomly but then looked back toward Zexion, who was once again smiling.

"Hi, mullety."

"Hi. Oh you're column today was fantastic! Gawd, I love that line: 'The onrushing stripping of dignity and thought from British lives.' Great writing." Dem said with a small chuckle.

"Hey, I got you something for Christmas." Zexion said as he set down his drink against the table, smiling softly.

"That's funny cause I got you something too." As Dem turned around to get the wrapped package, Zexion's smile vanished. For truthfully he didn't get Dem anything, cause he wasn't expecting Dem to either. He then thought up something quick as Dem turned to him.

"Darling, I don't actually have it with me. In fact, I probably misplaced it, but I know I got you something. I suspect it's somewhere in my car, want to know what it is?" Zexion said proudly and a reassuring smile formed upon his face again. Dem only smiled smally but shrugged it off and gazed at Zexion once more.

"No, no, no it's okay."

"I know you're going to look hot in it." Zexion added the finishing touch on hooking Demyx again into one of his lies, for the blonde had blushed slightly before chuckling.

"Well let's hope you find it then." The two of them shared a smile again before Dem lifted up the package.

"It's not exactly hot, but Happy Christmas." He said as he handed it to the blunette, who smiled and began to ease off the wrapping paper, and said thank you once getting the bow off.

"I didn't even think we would get to do this this year. Remember last year when we exchanged gifts in July, this is good. We're getting better." Demyx added and Zexion could only grin before getting the last of the paper off. His eyes going somewhat wide and he smirked.

"You stinker." It was the book he had wanted for a long time so he undid the protective covering and opened the front.

"It's a first edition. Where on earth did you find this?" Zexion smiled the biggest he had yet, making Dem giggle once more.

"Buried in the place we found out in Covent Garden that one time." Dem answered with a look of pure happiness on his face, as he could see he really made Zexion happy. The blunette only gazed at the book and shook his head in wonder.

"Why are you so great?" Demyx let out a great sigh as he heard that and smiled the brightest he could. He was so happy just to be in the presence of this man that he would feel like he could do anything.

"Everyone! Everyone, can I have your attention, please?" The head of the newspaper called from outside. Zexion frowned smally before sighing.

"I hate it that we never get to talk." Dem only nodded smally before both of them got up and headed back into the group.

"Well, first of all, Happy Christmas to each and everyone of you." The manager said and smiled as he got 'Happy Christmas' replies from everyone. As Dem stepped out of his office first he looked over his shoulder and smiled at Zexion, who smiled back. But as Dem moved more forward Zexion leaned away and starting talking to a friend.

"Now we are not officially closed as you all are aware. But we are going to try and get by this week with a smaller than normal staff." As people began to applaud, Dem looked back over his shoulder only to notice that Zexion wasn't following him anymore and that he was completely alone in the crowd.

"Now before some of you rush off on holiday, I do have one rather important announcement. Now this affects Demyx. Demyx Simpkins, where are you?" Demyx smiled as he raised his hand.

"Ri-Right here, sir." He said and the manager smiled as well.

"Ah. Dem, I have a tip for you."

"Excellent."

"A wedding was privately announced earlier today that I don't believe any other paper in town knows about. And I want you to be the first to report on this particular union as it is between two of our most esteemed colleagues. May I introduce the newly engaged Sarah Smith-Alcott and Zexion Bloom!" The whole crowd roared with claps of congrats as Zexion and his so called Sarah ran up to where the manager was standing. Both of them hand in hand.

Dem paled and could feel his heart practically be torn out. His chest felt heavy as if he couldn't breath. He felt so small and weak and lost. He just stood there watching Zexion kiss and hold onto the waist of the girl from Circulations.

He should be the one. But then again Zexion would never love him. The whole room seemed to go quiet with that single statement for now it was true. Zexion wouldn't love want or anything. Not to him. Demyx bit his lips as his eyes filled with water but none would fall down. He only watched the blunette and sadly there eyes met.

Zexion looked at Demyx freezing for a moment for he could see Dem was flushed white but Demyx only smiled, this causing Zexion to turn back to his girl. Demyx couldn't take it anymore. He disappeared into the crowd.

Later that night he walked down his usual path down London's cobbled streets before getting on the train to be all the much closer to home. He was wrapped up against the England cold air but even though he was he still felt numb. All the people didn't bother with him for they were too busy with their regular lives.

Once off the train, he walked down the streets of Surry, where he was born and raised. He then walked down the frigid snow covered unpaved path to his two story, double chimney, homey feeling Rosehill Cottage.

He opened the gate and stepped up to the door, before going into the house and closing the door silently behind him. Outside of the peaceful home all you could hear was the cries of a broken heart soul. And his little dog too.

~

Halfway across the world where palm trees were still in bloom and the weather was the farthest thing from cold. It a large house that had a pool, inside the living room a man was waking up to the sound of the gardener blowing away the random leaves.

He had silver hair and was well fit for his age, but he groaned as he rolled over on the couch. His body now aching from sleeping there all night. He eased the blanket off himself after running his hands over his eyes and face.

Once he finally got up he and slipped on his watch, he moved into the entrance room where there were stairs and lovely pieces of furniture and accessories that seemed to flow throughout the house. The chandelier smiling down upon the silverette, as well.

"Roxas!" He called before he sighed and began walking up the stairs. He let out a puff of air as he walked to the master bedroom, which was where he was suppose to sleep, with his boyfriend.

"Roxas." He said after leaning near the door, and didn't hear anything so he thought it was safe to open it up. Which he did and ducked quickly as a shoe flew right over his head.

Guess he was wrong.

"Look may I just say again that I did not sleep with her?" He asked to the blonde who was standing in front of him. A beautiful blonde who yes was small, but truly just the right size for his temper. His cowlick hair swaying slight as he threw back his head with a snicker and a roll of his eyes.

"Oh right! Because your receptionist needs to work til 3 in the morning!" Roxas replied with a slight glare to the other male.

"A bunch of us were working. She just wanted to hang out." The silverette said with a sigh as he tried to explain the situation. And to keep his cool as well.  Roxas smirked slightly giving a small nod.

"Okay then swear on my life that you did not sleep with her." He said with a small smile as he straightened up and waited. The other male only sighed with a small 'come on' and rolled his eyes. Roxas raised his eyebrows and gave him a look telling him that he was waiting.

"Look I'm don't wanna-" Roxas growled as he threw another shoe, which the male ducked again.

"I'm not going-"

"Your receptionist, Riku? You know what this is why we were smart to never get married. This is why I told you to not get rid of your house. Because I knew this about you." Roxas fumed as he began to pick up Riku's things from the bedroom.

"Okay first of all, can ya please calm down? Because I did not sleep with her. Secondly, we've had problems for over a year. And I know you don't wanna deal with that, but we have."

"Oh I am well aware that we have had problems." Roxas agreed with a large but small laugh as the things of Riku were now in his arms.

"For if I work a little too much, I never stop hearing about it. But if you work to much, maestro it's for the sake of your music." Roxas tried to say but he stopped as Riku stepped closer.

" 'If' you work too much? Roxas, you cut 75 trailers this year. You put a cutting room in the house and you sleep with your Black Berry. And I'm not even going to bother arguing with you about sex, cause frankly I can't remember the last time we did it." Riku said as he got closer to Roxas and frowned slightly. Roxas though heard some of that and only thought of it as an accomplishment before scoffing.

"Come on, no one has time for sex."

"That's not entirely true." Roxas glared hatefully before slamming the things into Riku's arms and growling.

"That's it! You absolutely slept with her! Seriously you need to get out!" Rox finally said as he stormed passed Riku and began to head toward the stairs, Riku reluctantly following.

"You know what I really think Riku? I don't think you ever really loved me! How's that?" Rox spat as he paused on the stairs before continuing, ignoring the roll of eyes from the silverette.

"Oh please."

"No I think you loved the idea of you and me, but not so much me. Not me, not truly." Roxas fumed as he finally got to the door.

"Look I did the best I could, is anyone good enough for that job?" Riku sighed as he watched Roxas open the door before dropping a pair of keys into his hands.

"I will send you your things!" The blonde sneered and Riku sighed once more before stepping out onto the porch.

"You know you do this, right? You screw up every relationship you've ever been in. It's what you do." Riku said tauntingly but Roxas only glared before slamming the door in the silverette's face. Roxas screamed and stamped his foot to the ground, growling loudly in his entrance space.

"You didn't really wanna be a couple! You resist it in your own way!"

"Shut up!" Rox screamed again as he tried to block out the noise before he climbed up his stairs.

"And it's hard to detect how you even do it, cause nobody's quite as smart as you!" Riku yelled to the door before he dropped his things onto the porch then walked more out onto the curved drive way, barefooted.

"So you're hard to catch at it. But it always surfaces and this is what happens."

"What happens?" Roxas yelled as he stood out on his balcony that had red flowers growing on it, so long some almost touched the top of the black front door.

"Things end!" Riku answered as he turned to look up at Roxas.

"Just like you knew they would. Roxas, you know how I feel about you. There's nobody like you. You just don't wanna be what I need. Well, not what I 'need.'" Riku tried to fix his wording as Roxas glared even more hatefully and scoffed angrily.

"I mean--You know what I mean." Riku finally said and looked down as a gardener passed him, heading to one of the flower beds.

"You know, I would never cheat on you, not under any circumstances." Roxas stated after placing a hand on his hip.

"And neither would I, okay? I mean look at me, I'm down here sweating like a pig. And look at you. You're the only man on the face of the planet who breaks up with his boyfriend and doesn't even shed a tear. I mean that's gotta mean something?"

Roxas gawked at Riku for a second before sighing and placing now both of his hands on his hips, knowing he had had this conversation before with the silverette.

"Why does it bother you so much that I can't cry?" Riku rolled his eyes and too placed his hands on his hips. Suddenly Roxas groaned and placed his hand on his chest almost rubbing it.

"Shoot. Esophageal Spasm. Oh man it's a big one." He said with a short breath as he just tried to regain his breath. He then saw Riku looking up at him and thought he was concerned.

"No no it's okay. I'm fine." He said only to sigh as Riku rolled his eyes and groan.

"No I know I'm thinking about me down here." Roxas groaned as well before huffing loudly then looked back down at the other.

"Riku, look it is over. So you know, let's be honest with each other. Just tell me, did you sleep with her? Just say it. What's the difference at this point right?" Riku looked over to the gardener, who shook his head. Both of them knowing that he shouldn't say the truth. But Riku folded his arms over his chest and sighed.

"I mean why torture me? Just put me out of my misery. What are we doing-?"

"Okay, okay." Riku finally sighed and Roxas looked down upon him.

"Yes, okay? I slept with her. Are you happy? I've been sleeping with her. She's in love with me. She's young. Look, this isn't a proud moment for me." Roxas nodded slightly as he moved back into the house. Riku sighed before calling out the blonde's name again, only for said blonde to come storming out of the house a few moments later.

The blonde came right up to him and growled as he shoved his hands upon his hips.

"Did you ask me if I'm happy?"

"I didn't meant that." Riku groaned. "You get me nuts sometimes, I say things I don't mean."

"In the world of love, Riku, not that I'm such a genius at it! But in the world of love, cheating is just not acceptable." Roxas stated but Riku was fed up and now done explaining his innocent case, which it only was to himself.

"No matter what you think, I know you have a very high opinion of yourself, but this isn't all about me." He said ignoring the scoff Roxas gave out.

"So when your not in such a rage, I think you'll see that too."

"Yeah, maybe. When I stop having visions of you two together I will see your side." Roxas finalized and was about to go back into the house, but he spun around and glared at Riku one more time before aiming a right hook at the silverette's face.

Riku leaned back because of the blow but he straightened out. "You gotta be-"

Roxas punched him again, this time in the nose and harder. And with that one Riku fell backward onto the grovel holding his nose only watching Roxas storm back into the house.

Roxas then slammed the door shut and jumped around, grumbling loudly and holding onto his fist. Yet surprisingly he felt great. His anger though, wouldn't let him show it.
